Elon Musk says Dogecoin could be his favorite cryptocurrency!
A month and a half after saying that Bitcoin was “brilliant,” Elon Musk, Founder of Tesla and SpaceX, made positive comments about Dogecoin, one of the most famous crypto-currencies on the market.
In a tweet published on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, Musk praised this asset with the following words:
“Dogecoin could be my favorite cryptocurrency. It’s awesome”.
On April 1, 2019, Dogecoin’s official account on Twitter conducted a poll into April Fool’s Day, asking who should be the next CEO of this cryptocurrency. This, of course, is an absurd idea because, as we know, cryptocurrency projects are decentralized, and this is the joke of the poll.
Other options includedd Charlie Lee (8%), followed by Vitalik Buterin (co-founder of Ethereum) (9%), Marshall Hayner (29%) and the famous Elon Musk 54% of the vote.
As a result, Dogecoin’s official report on Tuesday released another tweet mentioning Musk, who then replied with some memes:
“It seems that now you are the CEO @elonmusk, write to us by direct message to whom we will send the access codes :-D”.
Similarly, Jackson Palmer, the creator of Dogecoin, followed the flow to Musk with the following tweet:
“I plan to sell http://Dogecoin.com for 4.20 billion US Dollars. Financing (not yet) assured.”
The publication refers to a tweet from last August leading to an intervention of the Securities and Exchange Commission.
By that time, Musk had announced that he had obtained funds to sell his electric car business at $420 per share.
This turned out to be wrong and Musk lost the presidency of this company and 20 million Dollars.
On the same Tuesday, Musk changed his biography on Twitter to “CEO of Dogecoin”, updating it shortly afterwards to indicate that he was the former CEO.
A very good publicity for the Dogecoin token anyway!
