BMW is getting ready to enter the world of metaverse and NFTs
While some car manufacturers such as Lamborghini, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, Hyundai or McLaren have already embarked on the NFT adventure, BMW is also preparing to enter this new booming universe.
As noted by trademark lawyer Mike Kondoudis, the German automaker recently filed trademark applications related to the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) industry.
“BMW is coming to the metaverse!
The company has applied to trademark its logo for:
▶️ NFT authenticated media + files
▶️ Virtual vehicles + clothing + footwear
▶️ Retail stores for virtual vehicles + clothing
▶️ Virtual environments …
and more!
#NFT #Metaverse #Web3 #BMW”, says the lawyer in his tweet.

In more detail, BMW’s trademark filings relate in particular to applications covering downloadable multimedia files containing illustrations, text, audio and video featuring vehicles.
As well as “downloadable computer programs” featuring vehicles, toy vehicles, vehicle parts and accessories.
BMW has also filed its logo for online sales services related to virtual vehicles, as well as virtual car parts.
We can indeed expect one day to be able to buy a BMW (car or motorcycle) in a virtual world, or to be able to discover the brand’s new models using 3D virtual reality (VR) helmets or glasses.
This is also what the South Korean subsidiary of Renault, Renault Korea Motors, plans to do, which will show its cars in the virtual world of the metaverse The SandBox (SAND).
Also related to car enthusiasts, Mattel recently announced the launch of a collection of Hot Wheels NFTs.
Promising business, large companies, all sectors combined, are more and more numerous to embark in the sector of non-fungible tokens which can pay off big.
Nike has already made $185 million through the sale of non-fungible tokens.
Apple, Warner Bros, Mars, Puma, LG, eBay, or Starbucks have also jumped into the juicy business of these increasingly popular non-fungible tokens with the general public.
