The crypto project Filecoin will launch its testnet in December 2019 and its mainnet in 2020.
If some crypto projects disappear discreetly into a difficult bear market that is still not finished with yesterday’s fall of Bitcoin price.
Other crypto projects are moving forward and giving positive news like Filecoin just did.
Filecoin is not particularly known yet, this crypto project based decentralized storage had raised 257 million dollars during its ICO in 2017!
Enough to survive during a bear market when other projects like Substratum have already burned the 14 million dollars they had raised in ICO.
The decentralized storage provider Filecoin announced on its blog the dates for the launch of its alphanet, testnet and mainnet networks.
The alphanet will be on line these coming days if all goes as planned, the testnet will be put into service on December 11, 2019 and main mainnet network will be launched in March 2020.
Alphanet: 25th Sep 2019
Testnet: 11 Dec 2019
Mainnet: March 2020
The Filecoin protocol allows anyone to rent available storage space on their computer to other users on the network. Decentralized storage.
Despite the astronomical amount of $257 million raised in 2017, Filecoin has experienced delays as testnets we are talking about were planned for early 2019!
We are late 2019, but delays in programming are common things, not to mention the majority of crypto projects that have still not delivered anything yet after years of development.
Filecoin adjusted the dates of its roadmap:
