The Ethereum blockchain will be used by ConsenSys for its satellite tracking application in space.
Consensys is launching Consensys Space and TruSat.
ConsenSys is a company that develops enterprise applications, invests in startups and builds development tools based on blockchain technology.
Introducing TruSat: a citizen-powered, open source system for creating a globally-accessible, trusted record of satellite orbital positions ?

TruSat that ConsenSys Space defines as a citizen-based open source system to create a reliable tracking of satellite orbital positions, accessible globally.
The increase in the number of satellites in space is increasing rapidly as is the risk of collision between these satellites.
The goal of this satellite tracking and tracking application is to reduce the risk of satellite collision in the future.
Blockchain technology, which is based on a chain of blocks that can be verified at any time, is a technology whose data can not be manipulated or falsified.
This is also the reason for the creation of Bitcoin BTC by Satoshi Nakamoto after the 2008 financial crisis and the bailout of the banks.
Consensys therefore wants to base its satellite tracking application with the Ethereum blockchain technology to ensure the integrity of satellite tracking data in space.
Chris Lewicki, co-founder of ConsenSys Space, told the Geekwire website:
“Designing a system that is both open, autonomous, and resistant to malicious and erroneous seizures presents considerable technical challenges. […]
A big part of what makes this possible – which allows users to ensure that neither the algorithms nor the results have been altered – lies in the Ethereum blockchain technology embedded in our roadmap.”
We're thrilled so many joined us for the launch of #TruSat by @Consensys_Space. TruSat is an experiment in democratizing & diversifying space endeavors, enabling any person to make a direct contribution to the long-term sustainability of outer space. https://t.co/7JKFDeAL0u pic.twitter.com/0tI7noLiHm

An interesting project that highlights the interest and the use of blockchain technology in scientific research.
With, in this case, Ethereum blockchain technology.
