Which country in the world is most interested in Bitcoin

An original idea that had the blockchaincenter.net site by gathering all the research data on Google Trends concerning Bitcoin and several other cryptocurrencies.

The site has thus created an interactive map that distinguishes the countries where there is the most interest and research for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

We can thus discover the share that Bitcoin represents in Google searches by country compared to the main cryptocurrencies like Ethereum, Ripple, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, IOTA, Monero, Tron, Dogecoin and Cardano.

We may wonder why Dogecoin and not Dash or EOS rather as important cryptocurrencies.
The site team indicates:

“Why are some coins missing? Search interest for “Dash”, “Neo” or “Eos” is ambiguous because people also search for those terms in different contexts. For some coins, there would be a way around that by comparing “[coin] wallet” or “[coin] chart” keywords.

However, in the analysis smaller coins did not show enough search volume for these kinds of comparisons. Equally missing are coins with insufficient search volume (<1%) in comparison with Bitcoin. For the Top Coins that means “Bitcoin SV”, “Binance Coin” and “Tezos”.”

Not surprisingly, we discover that Bitcoin represents more than 80% of searches in the world concerning cryptocurrency.

BTC is followed by Ethereum at almost 14% then by Ripple XRP at 7.7% and Litecoin LTC at 4.7%.

The country with the most interest in Bitcoin is African

This may come as a surprise to some, but the country that concentrates the most searches for Bitcoin is Kenya in Africa.
94.7% of searches on Google for cryptocurrency in Kenya relate to Bitcoin.

Kenya is followed by Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Nigeria.

We note of course that this marked interest in Bitcoin concerns countries affected by significant economic and social problems, further accentuated by the Coronavirus/Covid19 crisis.

Faced with national currencies which are sometimes no longer worth anything, the population then turns to alternative currencies like Bitcoin BTC.

Africa clearly has an important role to play in the future of Bitcoin development as the CEO of Binance said or the CEO of Twitter who went to visit the African continent to better understand it.

Countries where altcoins are most popular

Another advantage of the Blockchaincenter.net interactive map is the ranking of the countries that concentrate the most searches for altcoins.

And it’s a whole other ranking to which we are entitled with Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, South Korea and Japan leading the searches on Google for altcoins.

You will find other interesting rankings on this interactive map such as the search ranking of each cryptocurrency by country.
