Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (ADA) had already announced an upcoming blockchain partnership with New Balance.
Blockchain technology that will be used to fight counterfeiting and authenticate original products to differentiate copies.

Called OMN1S and available in six colors, this is New Balance’s first basketball shoe and it is an event for the brand as well as for NBA fans.

First model for New Balance in basketball, it is certain that these shoes will become collectible items and will see their price go up very high in the future.

Ian Fitzpatrick, Head of Global Content and Digital Marketing at New Balance, said:

“We help customers be assured that the shoes they buy are keeping the promise of quality that is at the heart of the New Balance brand.”

Customers will also receive a “Realchain” card with a built-in identity and security chip, with which they can claim ownership by registering a unique shoe code on the blockchain via an app.

This innovation on the part of New Balance pushes the adoption of blockchain technology to the general public and sport is certainly one of the best ways to achieve this.
It also gives a modern and innovative image for New Balance in addition to partnering with an NBA star.

To launch this new OMN1S model, basketball shoes will be available at the New Balance x Shoe Palace, the Kawhi Fun House, located on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
The NBA star at LA Clippers Kawhi Leonard will be at the ephemeral shop for fans on Saturday, October 19, 2019.
