In Italy, Bitcoin would be the most used payment solution on the internet behind Paypal and Postepay!

This puts Bitcoin BTC Cryptocurrency in the top 3 Internet payment solutions in Italy.

The Italian newspaper La Stampa reveals the figures of a study by SEMrush, a company specializing in marketing studies and analysis.

The Italian newspaper reports that Italians have spent more than 40 billion Euros on the internet and in e-commerce in 2018.
More than 60% of Italians have made at least one purchase on the internet.

According to SEMrush’s study, Paypal is leading online payment solutions in Italy, followed by Postepay, another payment solution in the form of a prepaid card.
Bitcoin BTC arrives in 3rd place, this figure is surprising and it is a very good surprise for Bitcoin fans in the adoption of payment in cryptocurrency which is gaining ground.

PayPal which is clearly an online payment solution very easy to use, with a few clicks you pay your order on the internet.
PayPal also offers very flexible refund terms in case of problems with a store or online merchant.
All this has made PayPal successful and certainly explains that it is the most used online payment solution in Italy.

Postepay comes in second behind PayPal as the preferred online payment solution for Italians.
Postepay is a prepaid Visa Electron or MasterCard prepaid card service operated by Poste Italiane in Italy.
A customer does not need a bank account to have a Postepay card.

Bitcoin BTC arrives in 3rd place of this ranking, encouraging figures therefore that show that payment in cryptocurrency is making its way as and when.
Surprising figure also because many ecommerce sites do not yet accept payment in Bitcoin BTC even if it is increasingly easy with turnkey solutions like Bitpay, Gocoin, BTCPay, etc…

Figures that should increase faster with initiatives such as the launch in 2020 of the BAKKT consumer crypto application with Starbucks.
