Elon Musk and Michael Saylor meet with North American BTC miners in a bid to make Bitcoin mining greener

On May 17, Elon Musk posted a tweet announcing that Tesla no longer accepts payment in Bitcoin BTC because mining is too polluting for the planet.

Elon Musk and Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy, announced that they had met with North American BTC miners to form a working group and bring the crypto mining industry to use non-polluting but renewable energies.

Michael Saylor also commented on this meeting and the Bitcoin Mining Council.

Michael Saylor also indicated that the meeting attendees included leading crypto mining companies in North America, with the participation of executives from Argo Blockchain, Blockcap, Core Scientific, Galaxy Digital, Hive Blockchain, Hut 8 Mining, Marathon Digital Holdings and Riot Blockchain.

The goal is to form the Bitcoin Mining Council, an industry working group that will organize initiatives to standardize energy reports, pursue ESG (environmental, social, corporate governance) objectives. industry, educate and further develop the crypto and blockchain space.

This Bitcoin Mining Council must above all accelerate sustainable development initiatives for cryptocurrency mining around the world.
